About UFiPMAN.COM
I have been a fan of UFIP cymbals and selling UFIP cymbals to drummers since 1999. Before that I studied drum set from many instructors in and around Chicago. Between 1988 and 1991, I attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago where I studied as a classical percussion major.
In 1998, with help from my brother-in-law Mark Lewallen and long time friend Brian Eberhardt, I opened Offbeat Music, a retail music store focusing on guitars and drums. At the 1999 NAMM show in Los Angeles I stumbled across a peculiar line of cymbals that absolutely stunned me. I knew right away these cymbals were exceptional and I was immediately convinced that I wanted these cymbals…on my drum set! At that moment I was not thinking about my store or like a businessman. I was thinking like a drummer, musician and artist. That day, with no real knowledge of the brand or it’s vast history, I made the decision to invest in the line and become a dealer for UFIP.
Today I am very proud to be carrying this “unsung hero” of cymbals–especially for all these years. I have met some very nice people along the way too.
My goal here is to help you find exactly what you are looking for in a cymbal.
